Founder of The South Carolina Tongue Tie Center, Dr. Caitlin McPherson was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. After receiving her Bachelors of Science from Clemson University and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. McPherson was thrilled at the opportunity to practice General Dentistry in her beloved city at Peninsula Cosmetic and Family Dentistry.

Treating the majority of the pediatric patients, Dr. McPherson noticed the negative effects associated from tongue and lip ties with children’s development and health. As a result, Dr. McPherson took a keen interest in pursuing post-doctoral training in laser-assisted therapies specifically related to the treatment of tongue and lip ties.
Inspired by seeing the positive, life changing impact that patients receive from treating tongue and lip ties, Dr. McPherson realized that such services are absolutely essential to provide in her home state; hence, the birth of The South Carolina Tongue Tie Center.

Dr. McPherson continues to dedicate herself to helping children and adult patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health in a comfortable, family-friendly environment where she strives to make every patient feel at home.

When she is not practicing dentistry, Dr. McPherson enjoys the outdoors, cooking, exercising, spending time with family and friends, and especially with her two Shih Tzus, Dixie and Winifred.
